Todd Boehly could leave Chelsea ‘SOON’ – SEE WHY

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghabli remain at war over several major decisions at Chelsea, with the club still in slight disarray behind the scenes.

The Blues have enjoyed a fantastic start to life under new boss Enzo Maresca and they are currently fourth in the Premier League table, only four points behind Liverpool ahead of their trip to Anfield after the October international break.

However, the club’s owners continue to disagree on key decisions, including whether to remain at Stamford Bridge or move to a new location.

Boehly is eager to relocate the club’s ground to Earl’s Court in order to expand its capacity to beyond 60,000, while Eghbali favours renovating Stamford Bridge.

According to The Sun, the pair are yet to reach an agreement and Boehly may reportedly leave amid the dispute over Chelsea’s stadium plans.

A source told the newspaper: “There is a growing realisation that Earl’s Court can’t be done, while Boehly could be out of the club soon.

Todd Boehly to leave Chelsea?

Although Boehly has largely been the face of Chelsea’s ownership group since Abrahmovich’s departure, his influence has diminished since stepping down as Sporting Director.

In fact, Eghbali is now the man with the most power at Stamford Bridge, and he is a key reason why the club parted ways with Pochettino.

Clearlake Capital, a private equity fund managed by Eghbali and Jose E Feliciano, currently hold a majority 61.5% stake in Chelsea, while the remaining 38.5% is split equally between BlueCo partners Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss and Mark Walter.

As things stand, Clearlake Capital have no desire to sell any of its shares and are even open to exploring the possibility of buying Boehly out.
