Todd Boehly sends strong warning to Pochettino ahead of final games
The Chelsea board has reportedly handed head coach Mauricio Pochettino a “ultimatum” over his future at Stamford Bridge, according to a story on Metro.
The Chelsea board intends to evaluate Pochettino’s first-season performance.
Even though there were earlier rumors that Chelsea had Pochettino’s replacement ready, his chances of staying with the team have increased as a consequence of a run of impressive performances.
In our last three Premier League home games, Chelsea has won with 13 goals scored and 0 goals allowed. The Blues triumphed 6-0 over Tottenham, 2-0 against Everton, and 5-0 against West Ham.
These outcomes have positioned Chelsea seventh in the league standings, just two points shy of sixth-place Newcastle United and four points behind fifth-place Tottenham.
The board has reportedly set a clear condition for Pochettino: he will retain his position as Chelsea boss if Chelsea secure a spot in next season’s Europa League.
Chelsea must finish sixth to guarantee Europa League qualification, barring Manchester United finishing seventh or lower and winning the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
If United win the FA Cup and Chelsea finishes sixth, Chelsea would then qualify for the Europa Conference League instead.
