The Blues shared the points at Stamford Bridge following the 2-2 draw against the Gunners on Tuesday night.
According to Liverpool legend Steve Nicol, Chelsea’s draw against Arsenal on Tuesday night shows the Blues need an experienced striker.
“They need a centre-forward,” Nicol told ESPN FC.
“They’re talking about Edinson Cavani, this team absolutely is screaming out for an experienced, been and done it, got the T-shirt centre-forward that can get a goal from nowhere. “It’s okay saying you’ve made chances, they’re half chances.
“But if you’ve got a proper centre-forward, half chances become goals. “The forwards are not scoring goals. Absolutely [that is why Chelsea did not beat Arsenal].
“The amount of time they spent on the edge of Arsenal’s box and couldn’t break them down… the reason they couldn’t break them down is because they don’t have that guy who can sniff out a goal from nowhere.
“You can talk about Willian, everyone keeps going on, and they were doing it today as well, ‘Oh [Callum] Hudson-Odoi looked lively’. “Well do you know what? You don’t get paid to look lively. You get paid to create or score goals. He doesn’t do either.”
