(Video)“He plays Pep Guardiola’s style of play “I wish to play under him” – 28-years-old star speaks on incoming Chelsea manager
Enzo Maresca of Leicester City is the candidate Chelsea is closing in on to become their new manager. The Blues have asked Leicester for permission to talk with the Italian.
After just one season with the team, the Blues announced Mauricio Pochettino’s departure on Tuesday night. Since then, they have been hard at work finding a replacement.
As their future manager, it seems they are focusing on Maresca, a former Manchester City assistant to Pep Guardiola.
The 44-year-old guided Leicester to the Championship title last season, and promotion back to the Premier League, but the step up to the top flight is huge, and this would represent a huge risk by Chelsea.
However, current Leicester star Harry Winks may have given Chelsea fans something to be positive about when discussing his manager back in March.
Winks, who has worked under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino, described Maresca as incredible and the best he’s worked under, stating he believes he will go right to the top in management.
