The Blues had gone ahead through an Antonio Rudiger header immediately after the restart, but two quick goals from the home side saw Chelsea behind by 2-1 by the 64th minute. Another Rudiger header in the 71st minute saved the day for Chelsea as both teams settled for a draw.
A bizarre thing happened after the game as the Chelsea boss Frank Lampard crashed into the Leicester City’s boss press conference.
Rodgers was still speaking to the media and was about to answer a question about a handball shout Leicester had in the second half when Lampard barged in, saying: “Sorry, sorry, excuse me. Brendan I’ve got to go because we’re shooting off.”
Rodgers looked a bit startled at first before getting up to shake hands with Lampard as the Chelsea boss said: “I didn’t want to be rude! It’s good to see you, all the best. Cheers. Say hello to all the guys.”
Rodgers then told Lampard to ‘have a nice break’, as the Premier League will now get to enjoy a first ever winter break.
