‘What a goal’ ‘Our 2030 team is going to be unreal’ ‘Brilliant goal’ Chelsea fans happy as new signing scores an outstanding goal
Prospective Chelsea signing Kendry Paez scored a spectacular winner for Ecuador’s Under 17s against Argentina on Thursday night.
The 15-year-old, who has agreed a £17.5m move to Stamford Bridge, is currently playing for his country at the South American Under 17 Championships and his superb individual effort secured his team the three points. After seeing the goal, Chelsea fans on Twitter were praising Paez, with many excited by his potential:
Reports suggest that the FA and the Premier League have approved the teenager’s transfer to the Blues but, as Brexit rules stipulate that English clubs can’t sign players from abroad until they are 18, he will only officially make the switch in May 2025.
Up until then, Blues supporters will be keeping a close eye on his progress. He has been in outstanding form for Ecuador at the Under 17 Championships, having scored one goal and provided six assists in only seven appearances so far.
