Reports have claimed Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Thomas Lemar this transfer window

Despite their decent start to the new season and the fact they have some of the best creative players in the Premier League, with the likes of Willian, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Mason Mount just a few names to be mentioned, there is a lot of speculation about who Frank Lampard could sign.

The Blues legend and former England International has been unable to sign any players during his first few months of his time back at Chelsea due to their transfer ban, but that was overturned and he is now able to sign players to help improve the side

Now, it seems that they have the opportunity to wrap up a transfer deal for Lemar, who has struggled to impress since making the big money move to Atheltic Madrid during the 2018 transfer window.

Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha is reported to be high on Chelsea’s list of transfer targets, but his £80m valuation could see attention switch to Lemar, who commands a £5m loan fee with an options to but for around £50m.

And according to reports on the TalkSport website, Madrid are eager to offload the winger and have offered him to Chelsea, with the reports also suggesting that he is more than open to the idea of a move to Stamford Bridge.

And amid the transfer speculation surrounding his future, Lemar recently posted a cryptic message on the social media platform, stating: “The days follow each other are not alike,” wrote Lemar. “However, I learned that no matter what your day is made of, the main thing is to keep smiling and stay positive happy smile newyear.”

Look, Chelsea are always linked with every player that comes onto the transfer market, and that is no different here. Lemar was hailed as a bright young talent but has failed to make the impact that many had hoped for when he signed. So if he cant cut it in La liga, why would he manage that in the Premier League? Chelsea already have a number of impressive wingers at the club and do not need to bring in anymore right now, even if they are signed for a real January bargain.
