‘Wow. That is the blueprint’: Lampard hails one Chelsea player who was incredible against Ajax

Chelsea have beaten Ajax 1-0 at Johan Cruyff Arena on a brilliant Champions League night, thanks to Michy Batshuayi’s late winner.

Frank Lampard has shared feelings over the lads’ display at the post-match press conference.

“It feels huge, which always scares me because there is a lot to do,” the boss said, as quoted by The Telegraph. “It is a bit of a blueprint for us in terms of the way we played.

“The work of the midfield players was excellent. The work of the wingers, the work of the full-backs getting out to players, top, top players, and stopping them from making passes and easy decisions was outstanding. I could go through them all.

“Kurt Zouma, wow, what a performance. That is the blueprint. No excuses now to dip from that.”

Zouma was solid throughout the whole 90 minutes of the game indeed. In the first half, the 24-year-old was kind of carrying Fikayo Tomori through the game until the latter calmed down.

All in all, it was arguably the centre-back’s best match in the Blue shirt.

Chelsea have now caught up with the Eredivisie champions in Group H. Both sides have collected 6 points from 3 games so far.
