Chelsea transfer target Timo Werner netted the opening goal from the penalty spot in the Champions League clash between Tottenham and RB Leipzig
Chelsea fans are waxing lyrical about RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner after he netted against Tottenham Hotspur. The 23-year-old German international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Liverpool both named as potential suitors for Werner in January.
However, a move failed to materialise as Werner stayed put with the Bundesliga side.
And he was on target for RB Leipzig in their Champions League last 16 first leg clash with Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham, with Werner coolly netting from the penalty spot in the second half in north
It was a fine strike from the forward as he found the bottom corner of Hugo Lloris’ net, giving his side a crucial away goal in thetie.
Werner’s goal was one that got Chelsea fans talking though, having been linked with a move to the Blues.
