Zola Speaks on David Luiz to Arsenal Move
Last Thursday, Chelsea officially confirmed David Luiz’s departure to Arsenal on a two-year deal. The Gunners paid £8m for the 32-year-old, according to Sky Sports.
While speculations of David’s departure from the Stamford Bridge are rife, Gianfranco Zola, a former assistant manager at Chelsea admits he’d never have thought the 32-year-old would leave Stamford Bridge.
“My first reaction [for Luiz to leave] is that something must have happened in the changing room. I couldn’t see him leaving the club.”
And now it is everything for Arsenal to draw from:
“It is good business for Arsenal,” Zola added speaking on BeIN Sports. “They have acquired a player with a lot of personality, a lot of influence. It will be very beneficial to them. Defending is not his best ability, he is more of a midfielder.
“When he is focused, he is good at defending. But it is not his best quality. But Luiz is exactly the type of player Arsenal needed.
