Agent announces midfielder will be at Chelsea in summer, Blues close in on defender after Barcelona decision, as Blues plot move for £75,000 a-week Liverpool star

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is “100 per cent” staying at the club this summer, says his agent Joao Santos.

Jorginho is now in his third season at Chelsea having followed Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018, and although he has had his ups and downs, he has become a big part of this Chelsea side.

However, there has been constant speculation in the media that he would be very open to leaving Chelsea in the coming transfer window and make a move back to Italian football, where the likes of Juventus and Napoli are reportedly interested in a transfer deal, but that will not happen according to Santos.

WHAT HAS SANTOS SAID?

When asked about Jorginho’s future, Santos told Tuttomercato: “He has a two-year contract with Chelsea. He is thinking about playing in the European Championships and then the World Cup in Qatar. He will remain at Chelsea, 100 per cent”

Asked if the 29-year-old will sign a contract extension at the club, Santos added: “We will talk about it in a few months.”

Roundup…..

Look, there are many Chelsea fans out there right now that firmly believe that Jorginho is a player that they can sell in the summer, he does a good job, but does not add that creative spark to the midfield that would add a few more goals to the attack.

However, as we said, he does a solid job and under Thomas Tuchel, he is a big player, so the news that he intends to stay during the summer transfer window will be massive for the German boss, who will want to keep hold of the players that he currently has.

Barcelona are likely to give up the pursuit of Bayern Munich star David Alaba, who is also being tracked by Premier League giants Chelsea.

There has been alot of speculation regarding the future of Alaba over the past few months, and we are one club that are very interested in trying to tempt the left-back to the Premier League.

Right now Thomas Tuchel has Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in that position, and although they have been solid this season, there is a feeling that the German boss will still look to add to his squad in the summer, and Alaba is on the list.

And according to the reports that icfootballnews have learnt, is that the board are planning to open talks with the agent of Alaba in the coming weeks, and are reportedly prepared to go as high as £350,000-a-week to seal a transfer deal

However, there were also reports in the media which had suggested that Barcelona were favourites to get a transfer deal done for the player, as they had already make a contract offer to get a deal done.

However, Sport reports Barca can only sign him if he reduces his wage demands and they offload a star player.

Barcelona will need to sell a number of players in the transfer window to settle some of that debt that they have racked up during the covid019 pandemic, meaning that clubs will get a huge boost from them news, of the reports are true.

If the reports are true and we are one of the clubs that are interested in a deal for Alaba, they would be fools to not try and get a deal done, he is one of the best players in his position.

Chelsea Chelsea are reportedly planning to make an approach for Liverpool playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Netherlands international has three months left on his current deal, allowing the likes of Barcelona to hold talks with the player should they wish to make a deal done.

As it stands, the Blues are unable to follow suit, leaving them to consider their options when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.

Nevertheless, Marca reports that the London giants are interested in securing the services of the 30-year-old midfielder should he become available on a free transfer.

While the West Londoners are well stocked for options in the final third, Thomas Tuchel is believed to make changes to his team later in 2021.

The Merseyside Reds want to retain the services of Dutch midfielder with the player having been used on 40 times in all competitions this campaign.

Chelsea have Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Zyech in their midfield area, however, adding experienced midfielder like Wijnaldum could help young core to continue progression and challenged for trophies in the nearby future.
