Barcelona boss tells Chelsea what must be done to seal Coutinho’s deal

The Blues have been linked with a move for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho, as the Blues are keen to sign the former Liverpool star who shook the Premier League during his time with the Reds.

Barcelona signed Coutinho for £142m but has struggled to shine at the club and also struggled in his two-year loan deal with Bayern Munich.

Coutinho has a release clause of £355m, and Barca are keen to let go of the Brazilian this summer, according to reports.

However, Barcelona boss Quique Setien says Coutinho still has a future at the club despite persistent rumours linking him with a move to Chelsea. The Barca boss also made it clear that any suitors will need to pay a massive fee to get the 27-year-old.

Asked about Coutinho’s future, Setien told RAC1 on Wednesday evening: “I think Coutinho is a great player, I really like him.

“He is still a Barcelona player. You have to pay the clause or pay a sum to Barca. I think he can be here at the beginning of next season. I have to talk to him to ask him.”
