Chelsea board told to pay £100 million to sign quality Thiago Silva replacement

Veteran defender Thiago Silva has impressed since joining Chelsea as a free agent following the expiration of his Paris Saint-Germain contract.

At 36, the Brazilian isn’t a long-term option at the club and the Blues are searching for a centre-back that will replace the Brazilian international.

One defender that has been strongly linked with Chelsea in the past is Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, who is considered as one of the best centre-backs in the world.

It seems the Senegalese international will never get a big move to Chelsea as his club Napoli continue to demand a huge transfer fee even though Koulibaly will turn 30 this summer.

According to CaughtOffside, Napoli are still demanding £100 million for the Senegalese international.

Chelsea have recently been linked with RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano and this transfer looks more likely to happen than a move for Koulibaly.
