Lampard ready to offload German player to sign £60 million star for Chelsea this summer

According to reports Chelsea may look to offload Antonio Rudiger and replace him with Jose Gimenez.

However, Chelsea have already conceded more goals at the back than any side in the top 10 of the Premier League, and will not be able to challenge for that title if frank Lampard does not get the defensive players that will improve the side.

This has led to speculation in the media which have claimed that Chelsea are lining up a possible transfer move for the very impressive Gimenez, who is very highly-rated over in La Liga and is also being chased by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Meanwhile, Rudiger is possibly going to be sold this summer as Frank Lampard has ambitious transfer plans with Mundo Deportivo in Spain are reporting this interest with the Blues hoping to replace Rudiger with Gimenez

Rudiger has been a big part of the Chelsea back-line this season, but he has looked very shaky at times in that Chelsea shirt and Lampard knows that he may be able to get some good money for the German.

They have conceded too many goals over the course of the season and losing that FA Cup final against Arsenal should not have happened if the back-line was able to keep a clean sheet, they should have won that.

Lampard knows needs to prioritise signing a defender or two and a new stopper, as this Chelsea side will not be able to compete for all the major trophies and win, despite all the attacking talent.

Gimenez is a top defender and if would be a solid buy if they managed to get him for £60 million, so losing Rudiger to get Gimenez would be a good bit of business.
