OFFICIAL announcement made today as Chelsea fans officially see midfielder complete January move

Chelsea have sent out-of-favour midfielder Danny Drinkwater out on loan to Turkish outfit Kasimpasa.

Despite the fact that the transfer window has been open for a few weeks now, there has not been much movement as to players coming into the Bridge, but Frank Lampard has agreed to let a number of players leave on loan.

And the latest to depart Stamford Bridge after failing to make anu sort of impact is midfielder Drinkwater, who has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea since his move from Leicester just a few seasons ago.

The 30-year-old hasn’t played for Chelsea since the Community Shield back in 2018, and has also taken in loan spells at Burnley and Aston Villa over the past couple of seasons.

He will now be charged with helping Kasimpasa try to climb the standings in the Turkish top flight, with Fuat Capa’s side currently languishing down in 15th after 17 fixtures, as the club confirmed Drinkwater’s arrival in a statement on their official website, which reads: “English midfielder Daniel Noel Drinkwater, of English Premier League team Chelsea, has signed a contract that ties him to Kasimpasa on loan until the end of the season.”

This Chelsea move was supposed to be the one that would help Drinkwater become one of the very best players in world football, but that has not happened, and his career is now pretty much dead in the water.

This is not a move that he would have liked to have made and he was probably hoping to stay in the Premier League, but he should get some game time now until the end of the season, and he may impress a potential new club.

But as we said this is not a move that a former England International and Premier League winner should be making, a massive step down for the man
