“On his way out of Stamford Bridge”- Chelsea player to leave club in few days

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori appears set to join AC Milan on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season this week.

The England international has been the fifth choice centre-back for the Blues this term with Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen favoured ahead of him.

Initially, manager Frank Lampard suggested that Tomori could leave on a temporary basis for the season, but it seems that he may head for a permanent exit in five months’ time.

After prolonged negotiations, the Rossoneri have agreed a loan move for Tomori and the deal will include the option to buy for around £25m during next summer’s transfer window.

Tomori faces stiff competition for a starting spot with the Serie A leaders with Alessio Romagnoli and Simon Kjaer considered as undisputed starters under Stefano Pioli.

However, he has better chances of securing playing time with the Milan giants unlike at Chelsea, where he has managed only 44 minutes of Premier League football this term.
