The Premier League top footballing bodies are seemingly still keen to press on with their idea to get the league back playing again in June, but behind closed doors.
Obviously with the ongoing global Coronavris pandemic, these are massively uncertain times in football right now.
But the Government are allegedly ‘in advanced talks’ with the league over their plan to get this season finished behind closed doors, without supporters.
It still seems impossible that this could be allowed to happen, it surely breaks the own Government rules of isolation and non-essential journeys? Or are they maybe confident that by June the restrictions will be eased off enough to play these game? Perhaps.
Even still, many footballers including Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek are against the idea of playing football matches without fans, as reported by The Daily Mirror.
He said: “The fans are what make football what it is. You saw a few games at the end of the season – well, not the end of the season, but recently – without the fans and it wasn’t the same.
“It was so far off what football feels like when fans are screaming, cheering.
Whilst his England team mate Luke Shaw went even further and called for the league to be void as it is. He said: “Scrap it and start again,” he claimed. “Start it again yeah. It’s gotta be you know. If we can’t carry it on it’s got to be void.”
