Willian reveals the secret of Klopp’s recent success at Liverpool

Liverpool have struggled to live up to expectations for many years now, and the Reds have been unable to win the Premier League since its inception.

However, Liverpool have been a different team since Jurgen Klopp took over in 2015. Klopp has managed to turn Liverpool’s fortunes around over the years, and the Reds won the Champions League last season and were unlucky to lose the Premier League crown to a very strong Manchester City team.

Liverpool were on course to be crowned league champions before the coronavirus outbreak, and Jurgen Klopp has transformed the once struggling giants into one of Europe’s strongest sides.

For Chelsea winger Willian, the secret to Liverpool’s newfound success is continuity.

“I think the secret [to Liverpool’s success] is continuity,” Willian told ESPN Brazil.

“The coach has been with the club for almost five years. When you have continuity, you can win titles.

“They had a sequence of important victories, which shows the maturity of the team. You have to have time to get things done, and Liverpool have had a coach and a philosophy for a long time. “The team is the same, it is only one or two players that change, the base is the same. At Manchester City too, Guardiola has been there for a long time, the philosophy is always the same.”
