Roma have reportedly offered Chelsea star Pedro an escape route from Stamford Bridge after talks collapsed over a new contract.
The Spain international’s deal is expiring in the summer and his five years at the Blues is set to come to an end. He has won the PL, the FA Cup and UEL during his time in English football but the star is set to move on.
Pedro has featured just nine times in the league this term, scoring once and providing one assist, and has failed to prove himself as a key part of Frank Lampard’s plans. The World Cup winner has now been offered £2.7m per season to join Italian giants Roma, according to The Mirror.
There is also substantial interest from the MLS to land the Spaniard. Pedro is one of several experienced Chelsea stars expected to move on in the summer. Pedro recently told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: ‘My contract ends soon but right now this is not the most important thing.
‘I haven’t even stopped to think about this. The most important thing is for everyone to show solidarity. ‘Whatever happens regarding my future will happen but right now is not important as we don’t even know when we will return to training. ‘
Willian is also out of contract and has struggled to agree a fresh deal, with Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain both interested in signing him.
The 31-year-old wants a three-year contract but Chelsea senior figures won’t extend his stay for more than two years. France international Olivier Giroud, whose contract is also expiring at the campaign’s end, is also set to leave.
