1:30pm Chelsea transfer news: Abramovich releases funds for Chelsea to sign superstar, as Blues most active club trying to sign £294,000-a-week star

According to latest reports,  Roman Abramovic has released funds in order for Chelsea to snap up Erling Haaland

Haaland has become one of the most talked about, sought after, and dangerous strikers in world football since his move to Borussia Dortmund just a few seasons ago, and Chelsea are very keen on his services

It is no secret that the Blues are keen to add a new striker to the attack this transfer window, as they know that Timo Werner is not good enough to help lead the club back to that Premier League title

BVB bosses have repeatedly stated the Norway international will continue at the club next season and even though a summer transfer has been ruled out, Thomas Tuchel’s side are not letting him go.

Now, German outlet Bild report that Abramovich is ‘apparently serious’ about the striker.

‘Giving up is no alternative’ for the Russian billionaire and the report says he has released funds of around €175m to bring the 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have been the ‘most active’ club in the last few days in the battle to sign Barcelona and France attacker Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann joined Barca from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019, having established himself as one of the world’s best forwards while winning the World Cup with France.

After firing at least 20 goals in each of the last six seasons, Griezmann scored just 15 times in 48 games in his first season for Barca, a disappointing haul given the €120m (£107m/$134m) fee required to bring him to the club, and he has not faired any better this season.

He has largely been played out of position since joining Barca, and because of that fact, he has not looked like the player that dominated over at Madrid for so many years and became one of the very best players in world football

Recent reports in the media have claimed that Barcelona have already offered Griezmann to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG and Liverpool

The report adds the Catalan outfit need to offload around £171million (€200m) from their wage bill to register all of their new signings and tie Lionel Messi down to a new contract.

Chelsea want to add a striker to their ranks this summer and believe Griezmann could be ‘very favourably’, as they look to sign him on loan.

Roundup…

One of the best attacking players in world football and a man that has been linked with the Premier League alot over the past few seasons, yes he would be welcome at the London giants.
