14-goals Atalanta man to Chelsea?, Club open door for Chelsea to sign defender, as agent issues €100m man transfer statement to Chelsea
Atalanta are full of brilliant players but one of those is Colombia international Duvan Zapata, who has caught the eye of a host of European clubs.
The South American star has particular interest from the Premier League, with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea among those interested as the club’s disappointment with summer signing Timo Werner continues.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who report that he’s an alternative for the German tactician and his side should the west Londoners fail to bring in Borussia Dortmund and Norway centre-forward Erling Haaland.
An alternative to the former Red Bull Salzburg attacker could also be the Argentina international Sergio Aguero, who is set to quit the Blues’ league rivals Manchester City when his current deal expires in June.
Zapata has scored 14 goals so far this campaign and in spite of now being aged 29, Transfermarkt value him at €38 million.
Barcelona are likely to give up the pursuit of Bayern Munich star David Alaba, who is also being tracked by Premier League giants Chelsea.
There has been alot of speculation regarding the future of Alaba over the past few months, and Chelsea are one club that are very interested in trying to tempt the left-back to the Premier League.
Right now Thomas Tuchel has Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in that position, and although they have been solid this season, there is a feeling that the German boss will still look to add to his squad in the summer, and Alaba is on the list.
And according to the reports that Chelsea247 have learnt, is that the Chelsea board are planning to open talks with the agent of Alaba in the coming weeks, and are reportedly prepared to go as high as £350,000-a-week to seal a transfer deal
However, there were also reports in the media which had suggested that Barcelona were favourites to get a transfer deal done for the player, as they had already make a contract offer to get a deal done.
However, Sport reports Barca can only sign him if he reduces his wage demands and they offload a star player.
Barcelona will need to sell a number of players in the transfer window to settle some of that debt that they have racked up during the covid019 pandemic, meaning that clubs will get a huge boost from them news, of the reports are true.
The agent of Eduardo Camavinga has opened up and told the likes of Chelsea that the talented Frenchman has the ability to play in the Premier League.
The 18-year-old, who only turned 18 earlier this month, has already played 51 times for Rennes and earned three caps for France, scoring on his second appearance for his country.
His international debut against Croatia this year made him the youngest player to appear for France in over 100 years, demonstrating the huge strides he has made at such a young age.
And the fact that he has been impressing so much early in his career, has meant that the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG and Real Madrid have all shown an interest in getting a potential transfer deal done in the coming windows.
WHAT HAS HIS AGENT JONATHAN BARNETT SAID?
“Camavinga can play next year in the Premier League. He is that good. Whether he will or not, I don’t know,” he said ON GOAL
“His background has been tough if you know what he went through as a refugee and the burning of his home [in Rennes]. But his character is amazingly strong. He is not your average 18-year-old. Playing in front of 100,000 people is not going to scare him. He’s a lovely boy and I think he’s going to be a superstar.
Roundup….
Camavinga is a brilliantly gifted player that can be a superstar in the game, but considering Chelsea already have a number of talented players at the club, surely they do not need to delve into that transfer kitty and add another one to the squad?
Chelsea have been sent a clear transfer message for one of their top transfer targets, as Erling Haaland is good enough to play for any club in the world, says his agent Mino Raiola.
The Norway international has scored 49 goals in as many games since the switch and is wanted by the best teams in Europe, with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel a known admirer of the Dortmund star, who is currently valued at around £100 million.
WHAT HAS RAIOLA SAID?
Raiola is convinced Haaland would thrive at the highest level and says he could have gone straight to a top team instead of making the step to Dortmund.
“With Haaland, everybody was wrong. He did things much quicker than everybody imagined. Haaland is in front of his own development,” he told The Athletic.
“He is ahead of his own schedule. Maybe I was too careful when I said: ‘Oh no, let’s move to Dortmund instead of I-don’t-know-where’.
“This boy — I’m 100 per cent convinced and everybody’s convinced — can move to any club, wherever he wants, already on this level. And he could have done that last year. But maybe last year there were still teams [saying]: ‘Oh, he was in Red Bull, can he do it in another club?’.
“He is quicker than his own prediction. So yeah, Haaland is the talk of the town.
“I have the advantage of 25 years in the business at this level. I have changed the game, from an economical side, more than once. I don’t get excited any more about that kind of thing. I know to wait. This is a moment of waiting and seeing what is in the best interest of the player.
“Sometimes the best interest of the player is not to move when everybody says he has to move. And sometimes it is in the best interest of the player to move when everybody says he has to stay. So we will see what happens.”
