£60m Gunners star ‘interested in joining Chelsea’ – report
According to reports, Bukayo Saka, an Arsenal star, could be interested in joining a team like Chelsea, according to former Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny.
Saka, who Arsenal believes could help them win some trophies in the upcoming seasons, is one of the most interesting young players in football right now.
He has, however, made no secret of his ambition to play in the Champions League every year and win championships, and the Gunners are not yet prepared to grant him those wishes.
There has been much conjecture that he may decide to quit the club shortly after missing out on the top four this season when it was well within reach.
However, Mikel Arteta has publicly said to the fans that Arsenal and the talented winger are extremely close to reaching an agreement on a significant new contract.
But now, Kenny has spoken out and said that Saka would be interested in joining a team like Chelsea FC, Liverpool, or Man City, all of which often compete in the Champions League.
Speaking to Football Insider, via SportBible, Kenny said: “I think Arsenal will be going for fourth this season. I like who they have added, Jesus and Zinchenko, I just think he [Saka] isn’t in a major rush to sign [a new contract].
“If Arsenal didn’t get into the Champions League this season I wouldn’t be surprised if he is looking for a move. He would be looking for a move to a regular Champions League team like Liverpool or Man City, even Chelsea.
“It would have to be someone who is more or less guaranteed Champions League football. It is a tough one because he still has years left on his deal and whoever comes in will have to pay top dollar.
“He will definitely want to get out if they don’t get into the Champions League, that’s what the club will promise him.”
