‘What a player, something special’: Some Chelsea fans rave about their star after Leicester

The Blues finally had to settle for a 2-2 draw away to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were left raving about the performance of defender Reece James.

However, Frank Lampard’s side went in front early in the second-half with Antonio Rudiger’s header, but goals from Harvey Barnes and Ben Chilwell for the hosts turned the game on its head.

Rudiger managed another headed goal to equaliser for the Blues and they remain fourth in the Premier League table, but could see the gap behind them close to just four points depending on results elsewhere. James started for Chelsea in his usual right-back position and is beginning to make that spot his own, with captain Cesar Azpilicueta shifted out to the opposite full-back area.

The 20-year-old has broken into Lampard’s team this campaign after thriving out on loan at Wigan Athletic last season and is now performing to a high standard on a weekly basis.

He put in a number of eye-catching cross in the first-half against Leicester and was so unfortunate not to have at least one assist to his name.

The English full-back put on a masterclass of crossing with some of his delivers and it’s something that has added a new attacking dimension to the Chelsea side, but they need someone to finish off the created chances. James was bullish in his defensive work too in a great battle against Leicester prospect Barnes.
