According to German outlet Sport Bild, Borussia Dortmund have won the race for the signature of Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham and are prepared to break their own club-record transfer fee to get him.

The German club will reportedly pay a fee of around €35million (£30.5m) for the 16 year old midfielder with the deal expected to be completed once the summer window opens.

Bellingham has enjoyed a superb breakthrough season in the Championship with Birmingham City and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard was reportedly keen on signing the young midfielder this summer.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool were also interested in the 16 year old midfielder.

Bellingham, who has scored three goals and contributed three assists in 31 Championship matches for Birmingham this season, has been in Birmingham’s academy since the age of eight and made his first team debut at the age of 16 years and 38 days at the beginning of the season.
