Chelsea have received a boost in their bid to sign Jadon Sancho after Borussia Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke revealed they would consider letting him leave.

Sancho, who has 14 goals this season, is one of the most in-demand players across Europe and there were many reports in the January window suggesting that Chelsea were keen to make a move to sign the winger then.

However, Dortmund did not want to sell one of their most prized assets and it seemed that Sancho was keen to stay put until at least the summer, meaning that Chelsea went the whole January transfer window without making any meaningful transfer deals.

But with the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all credited with interest in the prodigious wide-man, Dortmund could demand in excess of £100million for Sancho in the summer, who became the first teenager ever to score 25 goals in Germany’s top flight recently.

And although Dortmund would love to hold onto the talented teenager, they are prepared to discuss his exit should he want to go, Watzke told RMC Sport: “Jadon is a very, very great talent, perhaps the greatest currently in Europe among players under the age of 21.

“In my opinion, he has the potential to become one of the top two or three players in the world in the years to come. “We will do our best to keep him as long as possible. We have a very good relationship with him. “But if one day, he comes to see us and tells us that he wants to leave the club, then we will discuss it.”

He has the creative flair and goal-scoring ability to make a real impact on the CHELSEA side and if they were able to complete a deal in the summer, he would be a massively brilliant signing for the club. So if Chelsea are looking to make a statement signing during the summer window, a deal for this brilliantly gifted young man would surely get many Chelsea fans excited.
