Chelsea FC release ‘an important’ message to fans following the suspension of the league

With nine games left of the Premier League season, the Premier League after an emergency meeting this morning revealed that the league will be suspended until at least April 4 due to the widespread of coronavirus that has now affected players and staff.

Reacting to the Premier League’s decision, Chelsea FC released its own statement, thus: “It has been announced today that the Premier League and FA are suspending all matches in their competitions until 4 April due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In addition, next week’s Champions League matches are postponed. Ticket news for affected games is below.”

Chelsea FC then posted a recent update to the club’s ticketing:

“Information for fans who have purchased tickets for affected games

“Premier League game versus Aston Villa away and FA Cup game versus Leicester City away – tickets that have been issued will remain valid should the match be rescheduled. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

“FA Youth Cup game versus Manchester United and PL2 game versus Wolves – tickets purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled match. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

“Women’s Super League games versus Everton and Brighton at home – tickets purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled match. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

“Champions League game versus Bayern Munich away – supporters who originally purchased tickets for this match will be given priority to purchase should the match be rescheduled. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed.

“Club travel – if supporters have booked travel with our official travel partner CTM then those bookings remain valid should the match be rescheduled. Further information will be made available once a new date is confirmed. “Supporters who require ticket refunds should contact the ticket office.”
