Chelsea have already made one signing for the summer, Hakim Ziyech of Ajax. With more deal to come in as soon as possible, the attacker has been interviewed by the club ahead of his summer move.
Speaking to the 5th Stand app, the Ajax midfielder discussed just how excited he was to be coming to Chelsea to play for Frank Lampard, and how big a role the Blues boss played in securing his signature:
“[Lampard played] a big role. We had a lot of contact in the last couple of weeks and he gave me a good feeling and that was also big to do with the decision.”
It’s a tempting proposition for any player, to be honest. Chelsea are a top club in a big city, but after the departure of Eden Hazard they are missing a jewel in their crown.
There is a vacant spot for a superstar, and Ziyech clearly thinks he can be the one to fill it.
We’re sure that’s along the lines of what our manager told him in persuading to choose Chelsea over numerous other options for a summer move.
