According to reports, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has renewed a stunning £85m transfer move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
However, the Jamaica international is rated as one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe and has also attracted interest from Blues Premier League rivals Liverpool and Man United.
But the English boss is desperate for the London club to secure his signature and wants Chelsea to submit an £85m bid to beat his domestic rivals to a summer deal.
It is claimed Frank was impressed by Leon’s performance for Bayer Leverkusen in their recent Europa League victory over Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Bailey rounded off a fantastic evening for the Bundesliga giants by scoring his team’s third goal in a 3-1 win at Ibrox, although the return leg has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak. Largely due to Blues transfer ban, boss has helped several youngsters develop this season and Leon fits the profile of players he wants to add to his squad.
Bayer Leverkusen are braced for offers for the 22-year-old winger, who has played over 100 games for the club since arriving from Genk in 2016 and would rather sell to a PL club than a direct rival in Bayern Munich. Blues view him as a perfect replacement for Willian and Pedro, who are both expected to leave the London club this summer.
Chelsea boss is already set to welcome Morocco international Hakim Ziyech to the London club at the end of the campaign after Chelsea agreed a £36m deal with Ajax. But Blues are set to hand their manager a transfer kitty of around £200m this summer following a January window which left Frank short and frustrated.
