The agent of Real Madrid defender Achraf Hakimi has confirmed that the player has not signed a new contract with the La Liga side.
The Moroccan international has been linked with a move for Chelsea recent days, but there were reports in Spain that he had extended his deal with Real. Alejandro Camano has spoken out to deny those claims:
“There is no basis at all. His contract at Real Madrid is still the same one we negotiated in 2017 and it runs until 2022.”
“We have to wait. After this misery (the coronavirus outbreak) we will sit together with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.”
Hakimi is currently on loan at Dortmund and the German side are said to be looking to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis. However, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all said to be looking at securing a deal for the right-back.
Whether the Blues will make signing Hakimi a priority this summer, though, it is doubtful. Reece James has already demonstrated that he is a capable successor to captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
Manager Frank Lampard is more likely to be focused on recruiting a left-back after being left unimpressed by both Marcos Alonso and Emerson this campaign.
