Glenn Hoddle has always had a soft spot for Chelsea, having managed us in the past, the former midfield wizard has been speaking about the current boss and how he’s doing.
He’s largely very complimentary, and says that the current boss has a chance of winning the league – but he will need help from upstairs.
“When you look at the squad you have to wonder what is going on above him in terms of recruitment, ” Hoddle is quotes as saying in the Sun.
“For me, Frank needs a clear transfer policy to take his team forward,” he went on in quotes taken from new book “The Boss.”
“He has been getting it right on the training pitch, on the football side, but the next big phase for him will be how the club operate in the transfer market.”
That really mirrors the view of most Chelsea fans right now. We all love Lamps and these players, and despite some great games they are clearly a little short compared to the top teams – both in depth and first team quality.
If they get this summer right, we can really give the young coach a platform to succeed next season. It won’t be easy, but we’re also just a couple of good moves away from being back to a competitive Champions League team again.
