According to BILD, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea have finally found a way of bridging the €20m gap between the €100m that Bayer were asking and the €80m that Chelsea were offering.
It’s come down to do separate add ons – €10m in “realistic” targets and €10m in other, presumably less easily achieved goals.
Other insider accounts, like Fabrizio Romano, That seems like a fair solution – in fact it’s curious nobody thought of it sooner.
Whatever the solution, it’s vitally important it’s figure out soon.
The new season is already just 3 weeks away, and we need the midfielder in training with the rest of his potential new teammates as soon as possible to maximise the impact he can make at the very start of the season.
