Tuchel told to wrap up £60m Brazilian ‘Big-game player’ for Chelsea

Rio Ferdinand says Chelsea need look no further than Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos if they are looking to sign a defender in the transfer window.

Since Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard just a few months ago, he has helped turn that Chelsea side into one of the best in the Premier League, and he could end the season as Champions League and FA Cup winners.

But there is alot of rumours that Tuchel will be backed in the transfer window and will look to add another defender, a midfielder and maybe a striker to his attack in order to win every possible title that they will be competing for.

Marquinhos is a player that Tuchel knows very well from his time with PSG, and there has been some speculation in the media that he is one of the players that Tuchel would like to Bring to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

And Ferdinand says there is only one player they should be looking at to upgrade their defence, identifying PSG skipper Marquinhos as one of the very best centre-backs in the world.

‘If any team is in the market for a centre-back, right now, out of the top teams, with the finances, Marquinhos is the only place I’m going,’ Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five YouTube show.

‘Big-game player. Every big game you see that guy play he turns up.

‘Fit as you like, quick, robust, hardened, battle-hardened, understands the big-game environments. Top, top player, great attitude, leader, got it all.

‘If I’m looking for a centre-back of experience who can take me to the next level, he’s the one I’m going for.’

Man Utd to beat Chelsea in £77m deal

According to German media outlet Bild via Daily Express, Manchester United want Jadon Sancho signed before the start of the upcoming European Championships and are ready to offer £77million to secure a deal.

Chelsea are also interested in signing the England international who has admitted to being a fan of Chelsea in the past.

Borussia Dortmund demanded £108million for Sancho last summer but are now reportedly willing to accept a lower fee for the England international this summer.

Sancho 14 goals and 18 assists to his name across all competitions despite a slow start to the season.

Speaking about his future recently, Sancho told ESPN: “I don’t know about my future.

“I am very happy here in Dortmund at the moment. I love the club, the fans and the team.

“They gave me my first professional start. The fans motivate and push me to the limit.”

Tuchel named Manager of the Season

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been named Manager of the Season by Gary Neville in the end of season Monday Night Football awards.

“If Tuchel wins the Champions League, the FA Cup and Chelsea finish in the top four then it’s him,” Neville told Monday Night Football.

“If you said to me three or four months ago that Chelsea would win the FA Cup, the Champions League and finish in the top four, I would have said ‘no chance’. To win a Champions League is a massive thing.

“Brendan Rodgers has done brilliantly and you do have to balance off the budget and the players these managers have. Rodgers and Sean Dyche are exceptional managerial performances – and David Moyes at West Ham has been exceptional too.

“But I would still go with Guardiola or Tuchel because to win the Champions League and the league in the same season takes some doing.”
