Bye Bye Abraham as Chelsea offer £70 million plus striker in bid to complete deal
Chelsea have officially submitted an offer to sign Erling Haaland this transfer window.
There is a whole load of rumours that Tuchel wants to add another striker and midfielder to the squad, with a number of world class players linked, with the latest reports claiming that Chelsea have opened talks with Erling Haaland about a new deal
Holding midfielder Jorginho ended 2020/21 as their top scorer in the Premier League with seven penalties and Thomas Tuchel wants to recruit a true goal-getter for a title push next season.
Now, According to a report from Italian-based journalist Ekrem Konuir, the club have lodged a bid for Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland, and The report suggests that the European champions have offered £60m (€70m), as well as current blues striker Tammy Abraham in part exchange.
Abraham is very highly-rated by Chelsea but his future is in serious doubt as he cannot get into that Blues starting line-up and he has been linked with a move away from the Bridge for months now.
But even if they did land Haaland, his arrival would present other problems at Stamford Bridge. That’s because The Guardian says Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola would demand wages of £300,000 per week for the striker.
That is way short of the world’s top earners, like Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo, but would still shatter the clubs current wage structure.
However, he is a world class striker that we would love to have in the squad, so hopefully a deal will get done.
