Kepa finally reveals how it feels after Mendy took his first place
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was in a bad place under Frank Lampard, as nothing really seemed to work for him.
The Spain international suffered anytime he was in the post, as he conceded easy goals. He made so many mistakes and Lampard gave up on him to bring in Edouard Mendy.
Kepa seemed to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge until the appointment of Thomas Tuchel in January.
Tuchel has helped Kepa gain back confidence and he did well in the games he played last season.
Kepa has admitted that he feels better now, but isn’t entirely comfortable with being a back up goalkeeper, even though he respects the decision of the manager.
“Right now, I feel really good at Chelsea, both physically and mentally,” he said.
“Of course I would like to play more minutes. “I would be lying if I said that I was completely happy with my situation.
“But I also respect the coach’s decisions. I understand that there are other players who are doing well.
“The team is doing great, too, and in the end that is the most important thing.”
