Just in: As Timo Werner finally reacted to Lukaku’s possible return to Chelsea

Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing back Romelu Lukaku back to the Stamford Bridge even if it will be a difficult task to carry out as Inter Milan are also not ready to lose him.

Timo Werner has therefore, hinted that he is okay with the possible arrival of Romelu Lukaku with a record-breaking bid of £80 million expected to be submitted to Inter Milan.

The German was one of Chelsea’s blockbuster signings last summer, with RB Leipzig receiving nearly £50m but failed to settle, scoring just six goals in the Premier League in his debut campaign.

In speaking about his relationship with Havertz, Werner hinted he would welcome Lukaku to the Blues by claiming it “doesn’t matter who scores the goals” to him.

“It feels like our relationship is growing together,” Werner told Chelsea’s club website when asked about Havertz.

“Of course, we speak the same language, we are good friends, so it’s not unusual we have a good relationship, but now we can show it on the pitch.

“At the beginning of the season we both had our own problems, so we couldn’t watch the other one, but now both of us can handle it very good and can look out for each other.

“On the pitch, mainly it’s me to him at the moment, and that’s no problem! We just want to win and it really doesn’t matter who scores the goals.”

The league title is certainly one of Werner’s aims this season, with the German stating he also wants to get on the scoresheet more.

“We want to win a title; it doesn’t matter which one. The best thing would be the Champions League again, but also the Premier League is a big target. One of those titles is our target,” he said.

“For me individually it is to score maybe a little bit more than last year, which was not the best thing, but to keep going and to help the team as much as I can with assists and scoring.”
