“I want to play, I’m still young” – Chelsea out of favour player wants regular first-team football

Chelsea loan star Ethan Ampadu is now living a fresh challenge in Italy, where he signed for Serie A side Venezia in the summer.

Interviewed by Ansa, the Welshman talked about his adaptation to a new division, and his wish to help Gli Arancioneroverdi in all possible ways.

In spite of being mainly a central defender, the 21-year-old has been mostly used in the club’s midfield but has no complaints about it.

“I think it is useful to be able to play in more positions. Okay, maybe not as an attacker, but in defence or in midfield I feel at ease,” Ethan told Ansa.

“I have no preferences, I’m young, I want to play and wherever I need it I’ll be happy to do so.”

He also praised the roster which will fight for the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo outfit’s stay in Serie A.

“I feel good, we are a lot of young people and the most experienced are helping us. We’re happy with what we can do, it’s up to us to improve in every match, because we think we can deserve the A.”

The ace was booked three times in three matches and now claims that his British style is the main reason for it.

“Yes, everyone tells me, friends and family, that I take too many. It is part of my somewhat aggressive game, coming from the Premier League, the impetus is there”.
