‘At the back, up front, on the bench: Van Dijk makes honest admission about Tuchel Chelsea team
In the two meetings between Chelsea and Liverpool this season, nothing could separate the two sides at the end of the day.
However, Chelsea and Liverpool played out an intense battle in the Carabao Cup final, and Liverpool could only win on penalties after 120 minutes of action.
Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has admitted he loves playing in many of the toughest stadiums in the league, and listed Stamford Bridge among his favourites.
He said: “I like playing in every stadium, St Mary’s, the Emirates, Stamford Bridge, Elland Road, Villa Park – I am just enjoying playing football in any stadium, whether it’s hostile or quiet. It’s our fans that have the better of the stadium.”
Van also reserved massive praise for Chelsea after last month’s Carabao Cup final.
van Dijk: “Chelsea are a very good team.”
“All the games I’ve played against them in the last three season especially have been intense, open at times.
“Chelsea have got a fantastic team. At the back, up front, on the bench.
sic manager, tactically wise. He sets up his team to try and hurt us, like we did to them as well.”
