“Base on the Challenge” – Tuchel reacts to UCL quarter-finals draw against Real Madrid
According to latest reports, Chelsea have been drawn to face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final.
However, The Blues will play Spanish giants Real Madrid for a place in this season’s Champions League semi-finals following the draw which took place at UEFA headquarters on Friday morning.
The first leg will be at Stamford Bridge with the second leg in Spain.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has reacted to the draw, and has admitted that he’s expecting a difficult game against the La Liga giants, especially at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Chelsea beat Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate in last season’s Champions League semi-finals and we will be hoping to dump the Spanish side out of the Champions League again this season.
Reacting to the draw, Tuchel said on Friday: “Tough one. The challenge can not be much higher than playing a second leg in the Bernabeu with spectators.
“It’s a big challenge but there is big excitement around this match and around this fixture. We know what’s coming. It will be an exciting match and a tough challenge.
“It’s nice to play a European team and maybe not at this kind of stage a team you’ve played so many times in domestic competitions.”
