Tuchel receive strong warning on £70m player ahead of next season

Former Everton striker Jermaine Beckford asserted that Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Chelsea, is not effectively utilizing Chelsea star Kai Havertz.

Thomas Tuchel primarily uses the expensive Bayer Leverkusen acquisition as a false nine.

Beckford, though, has asserted that the job is not his natural calling.

Havertz, in Beckford’s opinion, will perform better as a number 10.

Beckford told talkSPORT: With Kai Havertz, I’m a huge admirer of his. I don’t think he’s built to be a number nine. That’s not his natural position,”

“That’s not where we see the best of him. He works better when he’s working alongside somebody or as a number 10.”

However, Chelsea is set to revamp the squad this summer.

The Blues are close to signing Raphinha, and have also been linked with a move for Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele.

The deal for Sterling is expected to be in Chelsea’s favour, as the Man City star is keen on leaving the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Former Man City goalkeeper Shay Given, has claimed that the Sterling to Chelsea deal could come back and bite Pep Guardiola.

Given still rates Sterling as a top player who wouldn’t be happy with his situation at the Etihad over the past few months.

Given told talkSPORT: “He’s a top player, but for whatever reason in the last 12 or 18 months him and Pep, have not fallen out, but he’s just not started every game,”

“Sterling is a player that strikes me that would not be happy coming off the bench and being a bit-part player in the last six or seven months.

“Will he come back and bite Pep, maybe? That’s the thing from a City point of view, do you think he will come back and score a goal towards the end of the season that wins the league for Chelsea.

“He’s a top player, but with 12 months left £50million is still a lot of money. With the Financial Fair Play, City have to balance the books and they are still trying to bring in players as well.

“It might fit well for both clubs.”
