‘Is he really going to Change Chelsea’? ‘To be honest i don’t think so’ – Agbonlahor reacts to £60m Chelsea transfer target
The former Aston Villa player Gabby Agbonlahor has acknowledged how peculiar the Anthony Gordon trade from Chelsea is.
The teenage Everton winger has been linked with a £60 million move to Chelsea, but Agbonlahor doesn’t understand why they would spend that much for him.
Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “First of all I think it’s strange for Everton to even think of selling him,”
“But, when you talk about this amount of money, you have to sell him. When you’re talking £60 million, for me, he’s £30-£40 million at most.
“He can get at players, he can put a good delivery in, he can score goals. But when you read out the stats, it’s hard to see where £60m has come from. If Everton, who need a number nine, can get £60m or £50m plus Armando Broja on loan maybe, it’s definitely worth doing.
“It’s strange from Chelsea, though! They also need a number nine, they’ve got wingers. They’ve got enough wingers in the building. Is Gordon really going to change Chelsea from a wide point of view? Not for me. They need a striker, so it’s a bit strange from them, to be honest.”
