Todd Boehly to make this huge £40m transfer decision – report

According to reports, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, reportedly wants a longer term with the team and is unlikely to accept Chelsea’s new contract extension offer.

Kante wants a three-plus-one-year contract, which he had negotiated with the previous Chelsea ownership, but the new owners are only willing to grant him a two-year deal with an option for an additional year.

Due to the fact that Kante’s current contract expires in the summer of 2023, the new Chelsea ownership is eager to come to an arrangement with him on a new contract.

Kante might start corresponding with other teams in January if a deal is not already in place.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Kante won’t be short of options and the new owners must make a significant decision on whether to take over the company.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, O’Rourke said: “Chelsea, like a lot of the big clubs, aren’t that keen on giving players over the age of 30 long-term contracts, so there’s a big decision to be made by Chelsea in regards to Kante’s contract.

“And if he does turn it down and seeks a move away, I’m sure there’ll be no shortage of takers for the Frenchman.”

On his day, Kante is unstoppable. However, the 31-year-old has become injury prone at Chelsea over the last two years. Now in his 30s, a long-term contract could be a risky situation for the new owners.
