Eva Carneiro sends clear Diego Costa message to Chelsea as Blues star questions Tuchel’s sacking
Eva Carneiro, a former Chelsea club doctor, commented on Diego Costa’s return to the Premier League.
Costa recently signed up for Wolves as a free agent, and Carneiro who worked with Costa at Chelsea, sent a message with a simple tweet: “He’s back”.
For his photoshoot, Costa was made to hold three wolves by their leashes, and it was an experience the Brazilian didn’t really enjoy.
“I was scared to death,” he said about the shoot.
“Holding that chain I kept thinking, ‘What if this wolf thinks about jumping on top of me?’ and then the three of them did.
“Because the lady training them kept calling them, asked them to move around a little and the dog, the wolves didn’t do a single thing. And I thought, ‘If they’re not doing anything with the trainer, if they come’…when they came and smelled my foot, I knew I was done for.
“I was a little scared then. Those were wolves, not dogs. It was a cool experience but not a very comfortable one. I have five dogs, but they’re not wolves!”
Kai Havertz questions Tuchel’s sacking
Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has admitted his shock at the club’s decision to sack Thomas Tuchel.
Havertz played his best football at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel, and the German scored the goal that won Chelsea the Champions League in 2021.
Havertz however doesn’t feel that Tuchel’s sacking was justified, although he has hailed the appointment of Graham Potter.
He told Kicker: “Me too (it surprised me). Especially when you consider how we’ve played in the past year and a half and what we’ve won.
“With the current sixth place in the table, you can’t speak of a messed up start to the season, especially since we have many newcomers who first have to acclimatize But football is very fast-moving, a lot can happen at any time.
“Our new coach has made a very good impression, we have a great squad. I think we are in for a good time.”
With the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, Havertz has admitted that his role may yet change again, and he’s ready for that.
He added: “Of course it’s a bit harder for me in the ten because I’ve actually only played centre forward at Chelsea for the past year and a half and those are two completely different roles.
“My position is not that important. Whether I play on the ten, on the nine or on the right side, I want to help the team and justify the coach’s trust.
“I can put myself in any position.”
