It’s been a funny old season for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, and it’s only four games in. The 21-year-old front man faced heavy criticism from ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho after his performance in the 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on the Premier League’s opening weekend; he then missed the decisive penalty against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup final three days later.

However, three weeks on from that missed penalty and disappointment in Istanbul, things have changed for the young Englishman.

He has since gone on to score four goals in his previous two appearances for the Blues, two of which came in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United on Saturday.

He is starting to look the real deal at Stamford Bridge, and while it is still extremely early days, will go on to enjoy a successful season should he keep up this level of performance.

He’s clearly putting in the extra hours, too, with Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips tweeting that the ex-Aston Villa loanee had been staying behind after training to practice his shooting and hold-up play.

This news has, as expected, gone down a storm with Blues fans on social media, take a look at what they’ve been saying below…
