Tammy Abraham has not confirmed he is going to face Aston Villa but hinted that his hip injury was not too serious.
“It’s improving,” the striker told Chelsea’s official website. “I’m still in a bit of pain but hopefully I’ll be back out there soon.
“It was sudden pain rushing round my body so I was fearing it was something serious but thankfully it wasn’t too bad and the physios handled it well.
In that moment, you’re just thinking ‘what have I done?’
“When I’m not playing I’m the worst watcher, just jumping up all the time. It’s annoying when you can’t do anything about it because you just want to get out there and help the team as much as possible.”
Abraham has suffered a knock on his hip in the Champions League clash at Valencia. He was forced to sit out the West Ham game but Frank Lampard has announced that he might feature against his former team Villa. He will be assessed before the game.
