“A big risk, Don’t sign finished players from Chelsea” – Former England star tells clubs
According to reports, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but it’s yet to be seen if Chelsea would sanction such a sale.
However, the French-man has been a linchpin in the Chelsea midfield since signing up for the club in 2016, and Thomas Tuchel rates him as Chelsea’s main man.
Meanwhile, According to former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, Kante could be a good signing for Manchester United despite his age and injury troubles.
However, Robinson warns that Chelsea only sells players when they are finished, taking Willian as a case study.
Robinson told Football Insider: “Kante has had his injury problems but he is still a brilliant player. He is still world-class level.
“United cannot afford to sign solely for the future. They need to change things and they need to change things now. Kante is a player who could change that dressing room straight away.
“If he is not going to be a regular starter at Chelsea I could see that working. The worry is, Chelsea have a knack of selling players on when they are no longer at the top, top level.
“Just look at Willian for example. I thought it was going to be a great signing for Arsenal but it did not work. He has never been the same player since. That is a risk United would run.”
