“A controller player”, “Picking up his form gradually” – Chelsea fans can’t stop talking about 22-year-old Chelsea star performance in 2-0 win over Sheffield United

Moises Caicedo took another step in the right direction with his display in Chelsea’s weekend victory over Sheffield United.

It’s been a difficult run recently for the Chelsea side, but they moved back into the top half of the Premier League table by beating strugglers Sheffield United this afternoon.

The Blues ended up winning by a 2-0 scoreline at Stamford Bridge, with Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson both on the scoresheet.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who are missing first-choice goalkeeper Robert Sanchez through injury, should be delighted that Djordje Petrovic kept a clean sheet on his first start.

Chelsea dominate the midfield

There’s no doubt that the Blues had a big grip on the game versus Sheffield United in the centre of the park.

Moises Caicedo, alongside Conor Gallagher, really bossed the 90 minutes on Saturday.

Caicedo is becoming increasingly more important to the Blues line-up as he finds his feet during his first season at the club.

The 22-year-old all-action midfielder showed off his passing range and athleticism at the weekend.

Fans impressed by Moises Caicedo

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were all saying just how good Caicedo looked at home to Sheffield United.

There’s plenty of Blues fans on X singing the midfielder’s praises.

One fan claimed: “Caicedo is really moving me. Playing so good today already.”

Another said: “Caicedo playing well today.”

A third wrote: “I’ve been very critical of Caicedo since his move, but he’s been very good so far today, along with Gallagher.”

A fourth posted: “I will really not stop going on about it till yall see it but caicedo is that guy, everything you could ask for from a controller type midfielder.”

Another said: “I hope this Caicedo masterclass isn’t going under the radar.”
