A done deal? as Chelsea’s chief adds more fuel to £100 million Blues target
Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Dembele arrived at the Nou Camp in 2017 for approximately £100 million in a deal that is rumored to be worth up to £135.5 million [€147 million].
The highly rated winger made 150 appearances for Barcelona over five seasons, but has declined to sign a new deal with the club.
The Blues are close to finalizing a deal that will become the France international Todd Boehly’s first signing.
Chelsea chief Daniel Finkelstein has added more fuel to talk of interest in Dembele.
Finkelstein liked a tweet begging the club to sign Ousmane Dembele.
Finkelstein was tagged to a tweet, as one Twitter user replied to another fan saying: “Please tell him to kindly sign Ousmane Dembele.”
And Finkelstein responded by liking the tweet.
Dembele scored 32 goals and provided 34 assists in his time with the Catalan club.
It was under Xavi where he had his most productive campaign for Barcelona last term.
In 21 appearances last season, the winger racked up 13 assists for the Spanish side, scoring two goals in the process, and he showed in the second-half of last season that he can be a dangerous player if well utilised.
