Agent opens up and informs Chelsea that Serie A target is interested in Chelsea move
Long-term Chelsea target Lorenzo Insigne’s agent says the striker is flattered by interest from “top clubs”
Thomas Tuchel has done a wonderful job as Chelsea boss since he took over at the club earlier in the season, but there is a feeling that he will need to add to that attack in the summer as they are not firing on all cylinders.
29-year-old Insigne’s contract has just under 18 months to run and talks are ongoing with regard to an extension, but there has been a little bit of speculation in the media that the Blues could make a cheeky move in the window.
WHAT IS THE LATEST?
Aside from loan spells away at the fledgling stage of his development, Insigne has spent his entire career with the Partenopei. As such, it would be a huge wrench for him to leave the club for another team in Serie A – THAT IS WHAY A MOVE AWAY FROM SERIE A MAY BE ON THE CARDS.
“Of course, there are top clubs interested in him,” his agent Vincenzo Pisacane told Radio Punto Nuovo. “We are flattered by the interest of these clubs, but we are focused on finishing the season. There will be time to discuss the contract extension.
“The only thing he is thinking about is Napoli and the qualification for the Champions League. He feels the responsibility of being captain.”
WOULD HE BE A GOOD SIGNING FOR CHELSEA?
Look, Insigne is a very good player that would add to any squad, but we firmly believe that this is just his agent trying to get a better deal for his client, as he knows that speculation will make Napoli look to make sure they keep hold of the man.
But saying that, he could be a good signing for Chelsea.
