Announcement imminent: Club agree move for £50m star wanted by Maurizio Sarri

Napoli will allow Chelsea to sign transfer target Elseid Hysaj in the January transfer window, this is according to reports.

Chelsea have decided to offload Davide Zappacosta but they will not allow the Italian leave without signing a replacement for him. The aforementioned Italian has found himself on the fringes of Chelsea since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri and he has decided to call time on his career with the club.

The Blues only signed two outfield players in the summer and both were midfielders, although they were linked with a move for Hysaj. Sarri is still looking to reinforce the backline of the Blues and he wants to reunited with the 24-year-old.

During his time at the helms of Napoli, Sarri was pleased with consistently impressive performance of Hysaj and he feels the player will compete with Azpilicueta for a place in that right back position.

Emanuele Cammaroto, who is a Napoli based journalist, the player’s move to Chelsea is as good as done.

“Hysaj is on the way out,” he wrote in Napoli magazine.

“Ancelotti is ready to let him leave, and Aurelio de Laurentiis didn’t appreciate the take it or leave it offer on the contract, as the renewal terms were too high.

“The goodbye is already on the agenda, the Albanian will go to his mentor Sarri.”

Chelsea are likely to suffer a transfer ban next summer after 19 of their youngsters were investigated by FIFA. With the transfer ban looming, Cammarato further claimed that the Blues could make decent signings in January.

“All that’s left is to know if it’ll happen in June or January,” he added.

“The potential summer ban for Chelsea could make the negotiations start suddenly, but Napoli want the €50m from the clause and not a penny less.

“The agent will try around €40m, but in the end they’ll meet in the middle at €45m.”
