Barcelona set €30m asking price for chelsea transfer target

Barcelona have named their price for reported Chelsea target Jasper Cillessen.

Cillessen was signed by Barca following the departure of Claudio Bravo to Manchester City. Having spent two-years as understudy to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, it appears as though the Dutchman is set to depart the Camp Nou in a bid to further his career.

Sport report that Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Napoli are all interested in signing him. Chelsea and Liverpool may well be in the market for a new goalkeeper, with Thibaut Courtois’ future in doubt and Loris Karius stumbling in the Champions League final.

Arsenal’s reported interest makes less sense, with new manager Unai Emery signing Bernd Leno, having already had Chelsea legend Petr Cech at his disposal.

For any interested party, the situation is clear. Pay Barcelona’s asking price, and Cillessen will be allowed to leave. According to Sport, that’s in the region of €30M. It seems like a fair price to play for goalkeeper of his quality in an incredibly inflated transfer market.
